Which area of Puglia should you choose?
We recommend the Itria Valley, with a visit to Lecce. As a second option, the area around Taranto, Grottaglie and Manduria. Base yourself in one place and move with a private driver: the region opens up from there.

The Itria Valley
Trulli, vineyards, olive groves and white towns: it is the heart of Puglia as people imagine it. From here, Baroque Lecce is an easy day out.

The second option
Taranto, founded by Sparta, the ceramics of Grottaglie and the land of Primitivo around Manduria: a quieter, more authentic Puglia, close to two seas.
