What does Esichia mean?
Esichia comes from the ancient Greek hesychía: stillness, rest, quiet, silence. In English the word is usually spelled Hesychia.

I
A word richer than any synonym
In everyday ancient Greek, hesychía described the absence of agitation: peace, deep calm, places that were serene and secluded. Later, in the monasteries of Mount Athos, the same word became the name of a path of inner stillness and silence, known as hesychasm, between the 13th and 14th centuries.
It is a word that is hard to truly translate, because its meaning is richer than any single synonym. Our short version: the ancient Greek word for the quiet you find outside and carry within.

Why a Greek name for a Puglia travel agency
Puglia has Greek roots. This was Magna Graecia, and Taranto was founded as a colony of Sparta. A Greek name is a return to the origins of the land where we design our journeys.
III
What it means for the way we travel

- masserie and trulli, the sea in the early morning, a vineyard at golden hour.
- Quiet inside
- time to disconnect, real encounters with people and places, and the feeling of coming home a little changed.
- Listening first
- every journey begins with a conversation, because each person finds their own quiet in a different way.
