Christmas in Puglia: markets and lights

At Christmas, the most beautiful towns of Puglia light up: elegant lights in Locorotondo, the white town of Ostuni, the Christmas village among the trulli of Alberobello, and Monopoli turned into a walkable gallery of light. We design private winter journeys around them.

Christmas in Puglia: markets and lights

I

Where Puglia glows brightest

Locorotondo, one of the most celebrated Christmas destinations in the Itria Valley, dresses its whitewashed lanes in minimalist, elegant light displays. Ostuni, the White City, lights up its historic center with scenic illuminations.

II

Markets, craft and local flavor

In Alberobello, the Christmas village among the trulli turns the conical rooftops into a market of wooden chalets with handmade ceramics, crafts and regional specialties. Locorotondo and Ostuni also host markets and stalls in their squares.

III

A taste of Christmas: pettole

No Christmas in Puglia is complete without pettole, golden fried dough balls served in the streets and at family tables. We can arrange a private class to make them, or simply a warm batch with local wine.

IV

Beyond the postcard

We take you further than the classic photo stop: Monopoli and its light itinerary through the historic streets, old cafés in Martina Franca and Cisternino where the season still follows local rituals rather than crowds.
